Three tips for Food Allergy Awareness Week!

Food Allergy Awareness Week

May 12th -18th is Food Allergy Awareness Week. The stats on food allergies are staggering. 32 Million people in the US have food allergies. Three tips below on how to best navigate food allergies.

1) Seek Out Information

Recently diagnosed with a food allergy or want to learn more? Here are our favorite links for seeking out information and navigating food allergies.

FARE - Food Allergy Research and Education is the world’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to food allergy awareness, education, research, and advocacy.

Spokin - Spokin is the best app on the market to help you manage your food allergies. Wondering what foods you can eat based on your allergy and what restaurants are safe? Spokin will tell you all of this.

MOCHA - MOCHA (Mothers of Children Having Allergies) is a group of parents sharing information and supporting each other. If you're a Mom, check it out.

2) Read Labels & Be Proactive

Read the labels of everything you eat to ensure it's safe to consume. If you're at a restaurant, make sure to tell them about your food allergy so they can educate you on the menu and communicate your allergy to the chefs!

3) Focus on the Positives

There are a lot foods that are off limits to people with food allergies. DON'T WORRY ABOUT THAT! Focus on what you can eat and what you can accomplish despite what allergies you may have!

Blake, We applaud you addressing this void in the market!! Do you have any products that don’t have sunflower seeds, sesame seeds or coconut? We have 4 members of our family that can’t do those products in addition to tree nuts. We are Placing an order for the rest of us tho!!! We are excited to pass information about your company on to friends!
Wishing you much success!
